Duffy Recognized as Patient-Centered Medical Home
After an extensive review by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Duffy Health Center has been approved to sustain its Recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The PCMH is a model of care that puts patients at the forefront as an integral part of their care. Duffy Health Center staff build strong relationships between patients and their clinical care teams, which include primary care providers, behavioral health therapists, and experts in treatment for substance use disorders.
"The PCMH model of care underpins every aspect of the work that we do at Duffy Health Center. We are committed to high quality care that empowers our patients to be active participants in their own wellness," said Heidi Nelson, Chief Executive Officer of Duffy Health Center.
Roundtable on Substance Use and Mental Health
On Monday June 10th, local residents and service providers participated in a roundtable discussion with state-level lawmakers from the Joint Committee on Mental Health, Substance Use and Recovery. The conversation pointed to a shortfall in resources available to treat the mental health of individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Participants included Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings and Barnstable police Sgt. Jennifer Ellis, who supervises the department's Community Impact Unit, a partner of Duffy Health Center.
Daniel Rodrigues, Associate Director of Substance Use Services at Duffy Health Center, said that with a scarcity of inpatient and residential services, "We're not providing enough time for folks to get the resources that they need."

10th Annual Duffy Health Center Gala
The 10th Annual Duffy Health Center Gala was a huge success! It was a wonderful evening of strolling, mingling, and networking as we joined together to support Duffy's mission of restoring health and rebuilding lives.
Importantly, we raised a record amount during our Fund a Need, which will go directly towards Duffy Health Center's housing support programs. Please watch and share the video in which our providers and a Duffy client explain why these programs are so vital to our Cape Cod neighbors.
We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, who made this evening possible. We could not have done it without your support! We thank you for your commitment to our community.
If you were unable to attend the event but would like to learn more about why we are so passionate about the work that we do, take it straight from our staff in the video below.
