Help Support Our Staff and Programs
Consider making a gift to Duffy that can be used where it is needed the most. Your unrestricted gift helps keep the mission of Duffy alive by both supporting our passionate and dedicated staff, and sustaining our programs and services for the homeless on Cape Cod. Without general operating donations, Duffy wouldn't be able to make the difference that it does. Every day. In your community.
"I have lived long enough and seen enough to maybe have the right to be a little skeptical and cynical of anyone and everything who claims to be able to "help" me. But my experiences with Duffy have been nothing but good. And they are good because they take place in an environment of honesty, integrity, shared commitment, perseverance and mutual respect." – Duffy Client

Help Us Provide Continuing Education for Staff
Established in December 2012, this fund was created in memory of Jeanne by her sister Judy Best-Lavigniac and the Duffy family. Jeanne worked for many years as a nurse and understood the importance of ongoing training and education in order for nurses to move forward in their careers. In her honor, the family has requested that funds be used to help provide Duffy staff with opportunities to further their education and training. Duffy Health Center and Cape Cod Community College have collaborated to support continuing education and certification for Duffy staff.
"As a Nurse Practitioner, I know firsthand how important the work is that Medical Assistants and other entry level providers do. Creating a career path so that staff can develop new skills while remaining on the job is a win-win opportunity for everyone. Thank you for helping create the Jeanne Marie Shriber Fund. My sister would be honored to know what a difference she is making." – Judy Best-Lavigniac

Help Us Respond to Small Problems Swiftly
Named in memory of the father-in-law of a former employee, the Ned Fund is dedicated to helping clients who find themselves in an emergency situation that without intervention could potentially lead to nights on the street or in the shelter. Case Managers request help in situations that range from needing a little help to pay a month's rent to simply filling an automobile with gas so a client can drive to a job interview. The Ned Fund is intended to allow case managers to respond to small problems swiftly, avoiding bigger problems down the road.
"During a medical appointment, a client mentioned to his medical provider that he was having difficulty managing his medication since he couldn't always remember to get the prescription filled and to take the medicine. In discussion with the Case Management staff, they came up with a simple solution – purchase an inexpensive phone that the client could use to call both the pharmacy and to set an alarm to remind him to take his medication. The case manager was able to request money from the Ned Fund and the phone was delivered that same day." – Duffy Nurse Practitioner

Help Us to Heal Others Through the Arts
Initial funding for the arts project came from the family of Bach, a former client. Bach was more than just a client at Duffy – he was a board member, community fixture and voice for those unable to speak for themselves. At his passing, Bach’s family requested donations be made to Duffy in his memory. Thus the Healing Arts Fund was born.
Through art we see that every person, regardless of conditions or limitations, has hopes and dreams and is a part of the wider community. For Duffy’s clients, the arts can be part of a healing process from the trauma and the stress they have endured for days, months or years. The arts offer a voice to clients who are marginalized or for whom communication is difficult.
Through the Healing Arts Fund, Duffy will:
Work with local organizations to provide work spaces and supplies for Duffy clients.
Create spaces to display art in our building to showcase our clients’ work and engage the wider community.
Develop a partnership between Duffy and local artists in an effort to support an important part of Cape Cod’s culture.

Help Us Improve Duffy's Technology & Office Space
Duffy staff and clients are very fortunate to work in our new, state-of-the-art building. Completed in April of 2011, the three story multi-purpose site brought all of Duffy’s services under one roof.
Gifts to the Building Fund will be used to support Duffy’s mission and vision in tangible ways. As the need for our programs and services evolves, we will need to change how and where we serve our clients. Whether your donation is used to upgrade computer systems, refurbish our lobby or to update a medical exam room, Duffy staff and clients will benefit directly from your generosity. Your donation will allow us to keep the building looking new and welcoming.
"Duffy’s warm embrace makes me feel welcome and respected. The care and genuine compassion they give helps empower me to make choices that are healthy and productive. I can see a light at the end of what was once a very dark and onerous tunnel." – Duffy Client

Help Us Provide the Comforts of Home
As part of our nationally recognized Housing First model, Duffy staff has worked hard to help clients set up house when they move into their new apartments. In the past, the results have been mismatched pieces of furniture and an odd assortment of dishware. The Housing First Fund has been established to help clients furnish a first apartment with a new set of basic furniture including a table and chairs, a bed and a dresser.
Additionally, Duffy staff will work with local faith based organizations to coordinate donations of other necessary household items including towels, sheets, cleaning supplies and dishes. Your gift will help a client feel truly at home.
"Thank you to the staff of the Duffy Health Center for the lovely new sheets for my new apartment. It felt wonderful to sleep on something so soft and comfortable." – Duffy Client
