Duffy Health Center is partnering with the Moms Do Care program at Cape Cod Healthcare, which serves pregnant women who are addicted to opiates. To learn more, watch our latest episode of Duffy Doings. It features Duffy CEO Heidi Nelson; Lisa Guyon, Director of Community Benefits and Grants Administration at Cape Cod Healthcare; Sarah Ducie, a Peer Recovery Mom at the Gandara Center; and Leah LaCross, Program Administrator at Duffy Health Center.
From now until July 14, 2017, Duffy Health Center will be collecting items to help our clients stay safe in the heat this summer. Donations of sunscreen, bug spray, new t-shirts, hats, toiletry items such as deodorant and toothbrushes, towels, and snacks such as granola bars are welcome. Cash donations will be used for the purchase of backpacks which will be filled with these items. Checks made out to Duffy Health Center and other items can be dropped off at the reception desk in the lobby of Duffy Health Center from Monday through Friday from 8 AM - 5 PM.
Case Manager Arlene Crosby highlights the lack of basic essentials so many Duffy clients face, and the impact a small gift can have, “So many of our clients aren’t equipped to stay safe from the sun, the mosquitoes, and the other elements in the summertime. The items distributed during Christmas in July really help them out. I always notice what joy it brings them, to know that someone thought to gather these useful items for them.” Items will be distributed to Duffy clients over the course of the summer.
If you would like to volunteer to collect items as a part of your community organization or school, contact Christina at email@example.com or call 508-771-7517 ext. 169.
